1970s ASEA motor all wrapped up and ready to go
This Swedish-built ASEA motor was in nasty condition when it arrived at the Duke shop, and as you can see it's looking gorgeous now! We cleaned the brush holders and the commutator so they look brand new.
This large ASEA motor has been returned to its former glory. Now it's sparkling...instead of sparking.
Had any parts been missing or damaged beyond repair, with no OEM replacement available, we would've made replacements ourselves. No one wants to toss an $80K motor because they can't get a $200 part!
The motor came to us because it had been sparking. That means one thing usually: the carbon of the brushes has worn down so much that it starts to hit the commutator, which causes sparks and can be catastrophic to the motor.
